RECOMMENDATIONS BEFORE TRAVELING

To travel to South Africa, the following should be considered:

• Chilean citizens do not need a visa for a stay of up to 90 days.
• Passport valid with at least 2 blank pages for stamps.

• If traveling with both parents, carry the birth certificate in Spanish and English, with the details of both parents.
• Minors traveling with only one parent must carry authorization from the other parent in Spanish and English.
• Yellow Fever vaccine: All persons traveling to South Africa must be vaccinated against yellow fever. The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before travel to acquire the necessary antibody levels for protection. The patient must have a medical order. To access the yellow fever vaccine, go to a healthcare center. There are places authorized by the regional ministerial health secretariats to administer the vaccine.
